About Department

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering was established in the year 1983. At the present department is offering Diploma Program in Instrumentation and Control Engineering with an intake capacity of 120. The department boasts qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty with a strong sense of ethical and professional responsibility to impart fundamental and applied knowledge in the field of Industrial Automation, Process Control, Instrumentation Systems, Analytical, and Biomedical Instrumentation. Diploma (Instrumentation and control) engineer's role is to develop, install, test, operate and maintain the Instrumentation Systems and Automated Control Systems that are used in the process industry. Their prime focus is to ensure that the processes operate efficiently and safely. The students are enriched to excel in the area of automation where the students are exposed to various subjects related to measurements and control. The students passing out are having wide scope to get career opportunities in major manufacturing, process, energy, oil and natural gas industries as well as opportunities to pursue higher study in the premier and reputed Institutes such as L.D. College of Engineering, Nirma University, Dharmsinh Desai University, etc. The department is well-equipped with laboratories and computing facilities, with the latest technology. The department has state of an art Project & Innovation laboratory which always grooms, encourages, and motivates the students to carry out innovative start-up projects and many of them have won state-level awards and prizes. Also, the students are receiving financial support from SSIP (student start-up and Innovation policy) and GUJCOST (DST); Govt. of Gujarat. Department also has strong linkages with industry and alumni. Department has signed MOUs with several industries for student's training, seminar-workshop, and expert lecture. Major industries like L&T, Gujarat Gas, Amulfed Dairy, Arcellar Mittal India, etc. frequently take part in campus placement drive and offers highly reputed job to our students. Industrial visits are frequently arranged for our students to bridge the gap between academics and industry. Department alumni hold senior positions in industries as well as in academic institutions, both in India and abroad. Their expert lectures/webinars are frequently arranged for our students to impart real-time industrial measurement and control system knowledge among them. The Department is lead by Prof. M. V. Dabhi (GES Class I) having total 27 years of experience in the field of Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
