Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad has risen as one of the most preferred institute for acquisition of talented students from the Campus. The Placement Cell in the institute has been operational with the dual objectives of providing counselling to the students for their career development and arranging campus placement drives with prestigious industries to provide best opportunities to students.
The College is well equipped with Training and Placement Cell. Prof. U. V. Buch isin-charge of the cell. TPO is assisted by Prof. J. K. Patel for the saidactivity.
Faculty Coordinators and Students from each department are also involved actively in theplacement cell activities like arranging pre-placement orientation sessions, placementactivity, database management, etc.
The TPO cell has 1 conference room and 1 TPO Cabin (for conducting personal interviews)and an auditorium Swami Vivekananda Hall (Room No. 114) with seating capacity of 120 forpre-placement process.

The ‘Finishing School Program’ is an initiative launched in March 2017 by the EducationDepartment - Government of Gujarat with an aim to increase the employability quotient ofthe students. Master Trainers who have a vast experience of the corporate environmentimpart training to the final year students focusing on Communication - strengtheningemployability skills like CV writing, Group discussion, Interview skills andprofessional work culture, presentation skills, email writing, telephonic / Skypeinterviews, attitudes and behaviour, corporate culture and etiquette. The students aremotivated and encourage participating in this module for enhanced employabilityskills.
Life Skills Program: A 20-25 hours module that focuses on time and stress management,Goal Setting and many more skill sets required in day to day operations is designed forthe students & at the end of program the student receives a certificate from theEducation Department – Government of Gujarat.
Skill Set Focused: Functional English and communication (Listening, reading, writing,presentation skills) and Life skills (positive attitude, self-esteem, grooming andetiquettes, Interpersonal skills, goal settings, Time and stress management) as softskill personality development initiative.

This cell was established in the institute with an objective of motivating students for Entrepreneurship as a career option. ED cell collaborates with Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) – Gandhinagar (Government of Gujarat Organization). CED has granted our institute for Business Counselling Centre (BCC). This cell was established in October 2017. Due to this cell, the CED organizes various awareness programs for potential and interested students and provides latest information about centre and state government funding schemes. Our institute has already organized EAP and EAC during academic term 2018-19.The ED Cell also promotes faculty members to attend Faculty Development Program (FDP) at various institutes/organization. Apart from the efforts of the ED Cell, all departments of the institute maintain information about corresponding passed out students who have become successful entrepreneurs. This detail is useful to departments in improving student placement.
