Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad was established in the year 1957 and has been a pioneer among all state government polytechnic institutes offering diplomas in Technical Education, in Gujarat state. It is one of the oldest educational institutes of the World Heritage city of Ahmedabad. The institute offers ten different diploma programmes under Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE) and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University(GTU). The institute is located right in the heart of the city and has been for many years, the first choice among students for their admission.
